Much to the surprise of no one, the Las Vegas Raiders dealt Davante Adams to the New York Jets so that he could be reunited with his former quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Not only did this move get a star player out of the Los Angeles Chargers division, but it also brought about a new opportunity.

Former Chargers WR Mike Williams signed a 1-year deal with the Jets this past offseason. The Jets have now made it known that with the addition of Adams, they are willing to trade Williams.

Should The Los Angeles Chargers Trade For Mike Williams?

The Chargers are the team that drafted Mike Williams, so there is obviously nostalgia there. But the franchise is in a completely different era with new leadership and a new offensive approach. They had already moved on from Williams this past offseason, so it would be hard to see them trade any kind of asset to bring him back.

However, never say never, and another former Charger thinks it could make sense.

Former Chargers QB, and current host of Scoop City on The Athletic , and The Facility on FS1 , Chase Daniel, tweeted that Williams returning to So Cal makes sense, along with the Chiefs, Ravens, and Bills as other options.

Coming off of a win over the Denver Broncos, Justin Herbert produced one of his best passing performances of the season. That isn’t saying a whole lot considering this was his first game throwing over 200 yards. The passing game has almost been non-existent.

Would trading for Mike Williams solve this problem?

Probably not. But it would be a familiar face for Herbert who also provides a vertical and jump ball threat, something that they do not currently possess on the roster.

So far this season, Williams has hauled in just 10 passes for 145 yards. But again, he would bring something to the offense that is lacking.

It seems odd to trade an asset for someone that you just let walk away for nothing, but with how NFL trades are structured in this day and age, the Chargers could probably get it done with a late-round pick swap, so technically they wouldn’t lose anything, just move down in draft order.

What do you think Bolt Fam, should they bring Mike Williams home?
