Chips are a great, convenient snack because you can just open the bag and go, but what about when you plan to share those chips ? Of course, you can (and probably should) use a bowl in situations like that. A bowl allows you to manage your portion sizes, reduces the amount of grease or seasoning that gets on your hands and makes it easier to share with others.
But what do you do when you don't have a bowl or if you're just opening a bag of chips for a party? Content creator @that40yearguy (real name Dustin) just shared a hack for making your chip-sharing experience better, and we have to try this at our next gathering—or maybe our next family TV night.

How to Turn a Chip Bag Into a Chip Bowl
According to Dustin, all you have to do is tear or cut open the top of the bag of chips as you normally would. Then, gently press the bottom of the bag to flatten it out and, starting from the bottom of the bag, roll the edges of the bag upward, folding inward as you go. Continue rolling until the chips move to the top of the bag and the bag becomes shorter at the bottom.
After rolling the edges to the desired height, press the bottom to ensure the bag stays upright and doesn't tip over. This creates a makeshift bowl for your chips and brings them closer to the top, making it easier to grab them without reaching deep into the bag. This method also tightens the bag so that you can close it with less air, which keeps the chips crunchier for longer.
This is a quick and convenient way to snack on your favorite chips without worrying about finding a separate bowl, and it's going to be a game-changer for our next tailgate party or fall gathering.
"I love this, however what I do is simply cut the top of the bag to the level of the chips," someone commented on Dustin's video. That works, too, but if you have a crowd to feed, the bowl method provides some stability.
"Chip bowl! I’ve been doing this for years!" someone else said. Glad to know it works, because we will be doing this!
"I’m afraid I would break up the bottoms ones, but really cool hack," another person said. If you're gentle and take your time we bet you can use this trick without damaging any of your precious snacks.
