Former Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus has found a new team

Brandon McManus, who ranks second on the Denver Broncos ' all-time scoring list and helped the team win Super Bowl 50, is back with a new team. He signed a one-year contract with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday.

McManus has been on quite the rollercoaster since being cut by the Broncos last spring. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and kicked for them last season, but after missing seven field goals, the team chose to go in a different direction. This offseason, he signed a deal with the Washington Commanders and was set to be their kicker until allegations of sexual assault surfaced and he was released.

However, it was recently reported that insufficient evidence exists to proceed with those claims against him. That opened the door for an NFL return, and McManus will get that shot starting in Week 7. McManus will take over as the Packers' kicker right away as the team has chosen to release Brayden Narveson.

Brandon McManus will be Green Bay Packers' starting kicker

McManis spent nine seasons with the Broncos and he was the final member of the Super Bowl 50 team on the roster. In that time, he made 81.4 percent of his field goals and is second to only Jason Elam in points scored on the team's all-time scoring list.

Ahead of the 2023 season, Sean Payton chose to try and save the Broncos a little money and he released McManus. The Broncos then brought in Elliott Fry and Brett Maher for a battle in training camp and preseason games before trading for Wil Lutz before the regular season.

McManus will be the fourth kicker on the Packers' roster this season. Before going with Narveson, the Packers had Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph battling it out in camp. Both players were cut, and now Narveson has been too.
