Here’s Why I Think Dorinda Medley Deserves Her RHONY Apple Back

I can not explain just how much I loved Dorinda Medley on the Real Housewives of New York . The woman was lightning in a bottle for a plethora of reasons. She was the type of New Yorker people strive to be. She married the love of her life, who happened to be able to open up doors to the upper echelon of society, where D flourished. While on the show, Dorinda carved out a niche for herself thanks to her blunt opinions. But her personality was easy to watch. While I am enjoying the reboot, I miss seeing my “make it nice” queen on the small screen.

Dorinda Medley isn’t afraid to ruin her own party

I’ll always love that Dorinda spoiled the murder mystery dinner that she planned because she didn’t feel like doing it anymore. Dorinda had invited everyone down for an early winter celebration at Bluestone Manor . But as we know, her hosting never really goes well. Even Dorinda once noted, “There’s something about putting these women in a large, country house, with the gates closed, and the doors locked, that never turns out well.”

Even though she painstakingly put effort into planning the charade for Season 10, D just couldn’t be assed, and I loved the honesty of it all. Dorinda, like everyone else, was tired of the fighting going on between the cast and just decided to air out her grievances and the murders. She gave big “we’ve got enough good footage of this; let’s move it along” energy. This is one of the reasons why I think Dorinda should come back . She didn’t waste time giving viewers crap or fluffy episodes. Every scene she was in was dynomite.

Dorinda Medley always took the high road…sometimes

As a viewer, you can learn a lot from Dorinda and her time on Real Housewives of New York. While I can’t say she was always nice, she definitely didn’t hide how she truly felt in a situation. If anything, I would argue that by having Dorinda on the show, it all but promised a scene that would go down in Bravo history. As a housewife, Dorinda was one of the only women who actively stayed true to herself. She didn’t try to change for the cameras or put on airs.

If the network were to give Dorinda her apple back, fans could learn more ways to tell acquaintances how they really feel. One monster moment that shows that Dorinda deserves to be back in front of the camera is when she tells her friend, “Here’s the thing, Candiace, do what you got to do. But don’t come here and extend a hand to me. ‘Hi Dorinda. How you doing?’ You know, f*ck you. I’ll tell you how I’m doing. Not well, b*tch.” She didn’t give a second thought to hanging her friend out to dry.

Dorinda Medley can do no wrong

But the main reason that Bravo should hand back a juicy apple to Dorinda is that she is the realest of real. Why do you think fans loved her so much? Even though Dorinda had her questionable moments, she never wavered. What fans saw at the time was her gut reactions and there is something to be said about a reality star who is real. When Dorinda eviscerated Sonja Morgan telling her, “Why don’t you stop getting vaginal rejuvenation. You have an E-Z pass on that vagina,” that was real.

When she flipped out in the pizza parlor noting, “Now you need to back that sh*t up. Clip, clip, clip” that was also real. Dorinda’s emotions could escalate quickly, but I’d argue she was just passionate about the cause at the time. Dorinda has rarely apologized for her actions and often doubles down on her opinions. While some followers might not appreciate her candor, I personally do. So, if Bravo ever decided to bring the legacy women back, I would hope Dorinda would be given a seat at the table because she is an icon.
