Ten fighters went into the UFC Apex on Tuesday night, but only five came out with wins. It was an excellent night for Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series.

The first winner of the night, Jonathan Micallef, made it look easy by getting a first round triangle choke finish, and his contract was never in doubt. Dana White hyped him up, and even related to him.

The next winner had a surprising end to her night, as Julieta Martinez, an uber-talented 20 year old prospect, did not get a contract. Dana White made sure to indicate that they did want her, but that her age was the only thing in the way.

It sounds like they will basically sign her to an unofficial development deal. Dana said, "We want you, we love you, we will keep you at the PI and keep training. We will determine when you are ready for the UFC."

The third winner of the night, Yadier DelValle, got the contract he obviously deserved. Dana White indicated that he felt it was one of the most dominant decision performances in DWCS history, and he was as incredulous as everyone else that Monteiro just could not be finished.

Dana White loves fighters who take fights on short notice, and that is exaclty what Luis Gurule did in accepting a bout against Nick Piccininni. The teammate of Brandon Royval only won by split decision, but the circumstances, level of his opponent, and exciting nature of the fight mean he deserves the contract he is signing tonight.

Nick Klein also took his fight on a week's notice. As a two-to-one underdog, this jiu-jitsu purple belt choked out a black belt in the first round. All of these are reasons Dana gave to sign Klein, the winner of the final fight of the season.

With one of the better episodes of the show in the books, Dana White's Contender Series will go on hiatus once more, and return next summer to look for more exciting prospects to sign to the top MMA promotion in the world.
