At one point in Philadelphia, Haason Reddick was not only considered the best defensive player on the roster but one of the best pass rushers in the league.

At 29 years old, he still could be...if he actually showed up on the field.

Since the Eagles traded Reddick to the New York Jets back in early April, the team knew that they seemingly dodged a bullet in that they knew the former Temple product was deeply frustrated with his contract and appeared willing to sit out of practices and even games to get the deal he wanted.

The New York Jets didn't listen.

And the latest piece of information unearthed might have made Philadelphia even happier regarding the deal.

NFL Analyst Josina Anderson reported that Reddick's conditional 2026 third-round pick going to Philadelphia would automatically turn into a second-round pick if the Jets were to trade him to an NFC team.

The Jets are fighting for a playoff spot in the AFC. It's hard to see them give Reddick to a team they will be competing with. That means a trade to an NFC team would make plenty of sense in that regard.

Which would in turn give the Eagles a perfect return on investment in a trade that keeps getting better by the day.
