Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis made Tom Brady's role as a minority owner of the team clear, acknowledging that while Brady can’t suit up and play quarterback for the team, he can still use his expertise to select their next one.

Davis expressed his excitement for the legendary NFL QB to officially join the team when the initial agreement was signed to set the deal in stone on Tuesday. But as questions swirled around how the ownership would work, Davis was transparent that the rumors of Brady being both an owner and player on the team weren't true.

The Raiders majority owner said that Brady will not be allowed to be both a player and an owner in a message relayed to the media. "It’s just exciting," said Davis. "We traded Davante Adams for Tom Brady and a third-round pick. And although Tom can’t play, he can help us select a quarterback of the future and potentially trade him as well. So it’s a huge benefit having him in the organization.”

Raiders fans responded strongly to Davis' comments, mostly voicing worry for the current rostered QBs in Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew. One fan commented: "Aidan and Gardner just got ---- on by the owner" - while another remarked: "Aidan O’Connell catching strays on his off day."

Fans also quickly turned to potential future options, with several sharing memes and GIFs of Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders , a projected top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Brady’s influence with Shedeur sparked excitement among fans, with one confidently stating: "If they let Brady have some power over personnel choices with the franchise moving forward, their franchise will be relevant again quick."

Minshew currently ranks 25th in the NFL with 1,014 passing yards, while O'Connell sits 34th with 403 yards. In comparison, Sanders has been lighting up the college football scene at Colorado with 2,018 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and just four interceptions, boasting a 70.6 QBR that places him 38th in the nation.

Brady owns nearly five percent of the Raiders, and his business partner Tom Wagner has an additional 5 percent. Ex-Patriots teammate Richard Seymour jumped in on the deal and also owns a 0.5 percent stake in the team.

Together, the trio controls 10.5 percent of the Raiders, with Davis remaining the majority and controlling owner. Davis previously said that although Brady's portion of the team is small, he will have some influence in advisory matters but will mostly not be involved in direct on-field decisions.

As a FOX analyst, Brady will have restricted access to other NFL team's facilities and practices. He must also follow strict tampering, gambling, and ethical rules toward other teams, players, and league officials.
