BLINK is the nation’s largest public light and art event and will transform over 35 Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky city blocks into an immersive art experience. The event attracts more than 2 million people – locals and tourists – and has a $126 million economic impact to the Cincy Region.
Due in part to support from meetNKY, Northern Kentucky’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, BLINK will expand into Newport for the first time this year.
A unique aspect to BLINK is not only the plethora of official activations and events, but also the unofficial ones that pop up over the course of the four days. To ensure people maximize BLINK in Northern Kentucky this year, meetNKY has rounded up the top official (and unofficial!) events in Northern Kentucky.
Official BLINK Events
afterglow: The Official BLINK After Party featuring Austin Millz – The internationally renowned DJ brings his larger-than-life stage presence and fusion of hip-hop and electronic music to the BLINK audience at MegaCorp Pavilion. As the lights dim on BLINK, afterglow will crank up the celebration with music, food, and dance. Tickets can be purchased here, or purchased at the door.
BLINK at the Library – The Covington branch of the Kenton County Public Library invites BLINK-goers to visit the Loophole installation in the parking lot and participate in their community art project! Grab a light-up foam stick while supplies last and pick up a library calendar of events.
BLINK on the Levee Cincy Silent Disco – Cincy Silent Disco will be hosting free silent disco dance parties each night of BLINK at Newport on the Levee. Silently jam to your choice of music: EDM, throwbacks from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and modern music. If you’ve never joined Cincy Silent Disco for their monthly silent disco, this is a perfect opportunity to try it out!
Braxton Brewing Disco Arcade – It’s time to party like it’s 1979! Groove under the disco neon glow all night, and don’t forget to try their limited-edition Radiant Hibiscus Fruited Kettle Sour and cheer with their light-up pint cups!
Clive the Alien – Our favorite extraterrestrial friend will be lit up during BLINK! Because of the lighting, some may even feel as though they are being beamed up by CLIVE. Stop by artist Marc Phelps’s larger-than-life alien and step under his magnifying glass for an amazing photo opportunity.
New Riff Distilling – Take an Instagram-able picture outside of the distillery of the colorful light show, and then head inside to add bourbon to your BLINK experience! The Aquifer will be open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, where visitors can expect some fun drink specials and possibly win glow swag! Keep an eye on their website and social media for more information.
Unofficial BLINK Events
Blink, Clink, and Drink at Beeline – Celebrate with Beeline at Newport on the Levee in honor of Newport’s debut on the BLINK scene! Beeline will be offering glowsticks, photo ops, giveaways, and fun fall-themed drinks.
Cov Creates Fire & Ice Installation – Located in the alley between Covington Yard and the Historic Firehouse No. 2, Fire & Ice explores the duality of courage through a mesmerizing visual and sensory experience. This unofficial installation will open at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Plazmatic at The Fill Inn – If you enjoy funky beats, rocking riffs, and psychedelic grooves, get to The Fill Inn at 10 p.m. on Saturday to keep the fun going after a night exploring BLINK.
