Chicago Sky star forward Angel Reese made headlines on Tuesday when she sent a simple six-word tweet.

The 22-year-old record-breaking rookie let her followers know that she was in the Big Apple on Tuesday night, posting on X “I think I love New York.”

A small contingency of her fans immediately informed her they believed Chicago is better, while another, much larger group of users took the opportunity to recruit her to another team.

Reese signed a four-year $324,383 contract with the Sky after she was drafted seventh overall back in April. The LSU alum will likely hit free agency after the 2027 season, and several fans started planting the seed now for Reese to end up signing with the New York Liberty.

“We’re going to get you to New York after your rookie contract,” one fan wrote .

“Ya’ll I’ve been saying this since she got drafted. Somehow, some way, she’s gonna end up playing for the Liberty within 4 years!” another commented .

“Yeah, I was hoping you’d somehow end up on the liberty. But I now have two teams to follow,” a third remarked .

“Come and join this @nyliberty squad. We would love to have you!” another fan said .

“You’d look great in some Sea foam and teal with Big Ellie, Sabrina, Stewie, and JJ. Just sayin. NY would treat you right, Angel,” one user stated .

“Come to the Liberty when Sabrina and Bre Stewart go to [the Golden State Valkyries],” another user suggested .

“Aye I know y’all @nyliberty in the finals.. call Chicago and see what’s up,” another user proclaimed .

Reese averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 32.5 minutes per game. She broke the WNBA single-season record for rebounds only to have Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson break it not long after.

If she reaches free agency three years from now, she will presumably be one of the most desired players on the open market.
