On3 recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong made waves in the Michigan community this week by placing a prediction for the Wolverines to land Overland Park (Ks.) Blue Valley Northwest five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola , the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2025 class per On3. He discussed his prediction on a YouTube show with On3’s Josh Newburg .

“It was time to move my pick off Stanford,” Wiltfong said. “I think he’s nearing his college decision. And coming into the summer, you talked to people around the programs that are finalists — you got Auburn, you got Missouri, you got Michigan, you got Oklahoma and you got Stanford — and the narrative kind of shifted from ‘and Stanford’ to ‘and Michigan.’

“As I continue to talk to sources this week, I just like the way it’s starting to shape up for the Wolverines. We’ve been talking about Michigan being the program trending for quite some time, and I think he’s going to try to make his decision before the end of the month.”

Former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady was officially approved as a minority owner of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.

“I’m incredibly humbled and excited to have been unanimously approved as an owner of the Las Vegas Raiders,” Brady wrote . “Throughout my NFL career, I’ve learned that at its core, football is a game of teamwork, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellent. The Raiders franchise, and the city of Las Vegas embody these same values, and I’m honored to become part of that story.

“Football has been part of my entire life growing up in the Bay Area and in so many ways, my football life and journey has come full circle. I love the sport, I love my teammates, coaches, and the fans in every organization I’ve been part of” he added. “Sports brings us together in a way nothing else cal. I grew up on the field, and it’s a blessing to know I’ll be involved in the greatest league in the world for the rest of my life.

“I’d like to thank Mark Davis for welcoming me into his family, and the tireless work he’s done to help build on the organization that so many fans know and love today. Also thank you to Commissioner Goodell for his support as well as all the NFL owners that supported my dream – I’ve forever grateful. I’d also like to thank my partner Tom Wagner, Don Yee, Jim Gray, Alex Spiro, and Larry Delson as they have been instrumental in helping me achieve this incredible milestone.

“I’m eager to contribute to the organization in any way I can, honoring the Raiders’ rich tradition while finding every possible opportunity to improve our offers to fans… and most important, WIN football games.”

Michigan director of athletics Warde Manuel discussed the department’s need for more revenue ahead of revenue sharing coming to college athletics next year.

“We’re going to pay be paying our student-athletes more money. Our budget is going to grow,” Manuel said on the Conqu’ring Heroes podcast. “It means we’re going to have to look at new revenue streams. Also look at our expenses and making sure we control our expenses. And so it’s going to be a combination of both additional revenue that we need to look at — because this is additional payments that we have to make to our student-athletes — as well as reduction of expenses where we can.”

    Quote Of The Day

“The past week has been great practices. The bye week has really helped with that. Today, you could especially feel it — just a good energy, a collective knowledge of who we are and what we’re going to be.”
