Packers will look different against the Texans, and it might divide their fans

The Green Bay Packers-Houston Texans matchup will be at Lambeau Field on Sunday, but the Packers will not wear their traditional green and yellow jerseys. For this specific game, Green Bay will wear a special, all-white uniform — which, for the first time, includes white helmets.

The alternate helmets are part of a new NFL rule, and the Packers decided to take advantage of that. Some fans might not like the idea, but the all-whites are the choice for Sunday . In addition to the players on the field, the Packers are incentivizing fans to wear white as well.

"To help create a blizzard-like effect in the stadium in honor of Packers fans' legendary energy during even the harshest of winter conditions, the team is asking game attendees to join in the Winter Warning by wearing white attire for the Oct. 20 game against Houston," the Packers said in an official statement. "Fans attending the game also will receive a Winter Warning white scarf from American Family Insurance upon entering the stadium to help add to the snowstorm-like atmosphere."

Some fans will love it, some fans will hate it because it lacks tradition, but it will be hard to be indifferent to the kit of uniforms.

The all-whites are the fourth kit in the Packers' pecking order, after the classic green and yellow, and away classic white and yellow, and the all greens the Packers have used as the alternate for the last few years, since 2021.

Even though the Packers want to create a winter environment in Green Bay, the weather won't help much. The forecast indicates it will be around 70°F at game time.
