President Joe Biden slammed former President Donald Trump as a “loser” and accusing him of running for president to avoid prison time in a fiery takedown in Pennsylvania on Tuesday night.
In a no-holds-barred address to a packed crowd at the Philadelphia City Committee dinner to eviscerate Trump.
Biden began by defending his administration’s record, telling attendees that “more people are working today in America than any time since Trump left office; that’s just a fact. 401Ks are strong, violent crime is down, murder is down, and fewer people are crossing the border, and Trump calls that a hellscape? He talks about America being a failed nation; where the hell’s he from?”
Pivoting to attack the former president, Biden continued: “It makes me angry. I say America’s winning; we’re the most powerful nation in the world, the most respected nation in the world… Trump says we’re losers, but the only loser I know is Donald Trump.”
Expanding on his charge, Biden took direct aim at Trump’s self-proclaimed business acumen, highlighting Trump’s infamous Atlantic City casino failure.
“We all know Trump is a failed businessman,” Biden said. “How is that possible? I thought the house always won. Pretty hard to do.”
Trump, according to Biden, was not only defeated in the 2020 election but is a “loser in everything he does.” Biden punctuated his critique by calling Trump “the only loser I know.”
The president also seized the opportunity to remind the audience of Trump’s legal troubles.
“I want to watch that sentence,” Biden quipped, referring to Trump’s upcoming sentencing related to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. “I think he’s running to stay out of jail.”
Biden even mocked Trump’s bizarre behavior at a recent Pennsylvania town hall, where the former president cut the event short after medical interruptions and played music for the crowd: “He stood on the stage for 30 minutes and danced. I’m serious. What’s wrong with this guy?”
In a particularly biting moment, Biden made the sign of the cross while recalling Trump’s vow to be a “great protector of women.”
Shifting focus, Biden praised Vice President Kamala Harris for her loyalty before laying into Trump once more, mocking him as a “tough guy” who’s ultimately afraid of facing Harris in a further debate.
“She beat Trump so badly in the debate he’s scared to death to meet her again. That’s a fact,” Biden said before adding, “Tough guy, right? Tough guy. Because he knows he’d lose again. That’s a fact. He is a loser.”
“Folks, this is 2024, we’re not going back,” Biden concluded.
