In a move that's sure to shake things up for the Three Lions, Thomas Tuchel has stepped in as the new head coach for England's senior men's team . With him comes none other than Scouser and lifelong Liverpool fan Anthony Barry, a coach with an impressive resume—Champions League glory at Chelsea and Bundesliga triumphs at Bayern Munich to his name.

Straight from the heart of Merseyside, Barry brings local flair to the national stage. Despite cutting his teeth in Everton's youth squads and notching over 300 caps across clubs like Chester City, Wrexham, and Accrington Stanley, it's his coaching career that's stealing headlines.

Internationally, he's no stranger either, boasting stints with the Republic of Ireland, under Roberto Martinez with Belgium, and even Portugal.

With undeniable pride, Barry has expressed his sentiment on the prestigious role: "For any Englishman in football, working with the national team is the pinnacle and I didn't hesitate when Thomas asked me to come and join him again. I know what a great place St. George's Park is and how much of an advantage it gives our England teams, and the support it gives to coaches."

He's bullish about the talent within the squad too, eager to get stuck in: "This squad is very talented and have done so much to bring the country together, I look forward to meeting and working with them on this exciting project."

Tuchel, at 51, takes over from Gareth Southgate, whose tenure included memorable runs in major tournaments. January 1 marks the start of a fresh chapter, as Tuchel and Barry team up once more, potentially taking England to new heights.

Lee Carsley, interim head coach, and former Everton midfielder, will be at the helm of the Three Lions until the end of the Nations League group stage next month. Following that, he'll spearhead England's campaign to defend their European Under-21 Championship title.

The FA has announced a confidential search for Gareth Southgate's replacement, involving interviews with numerous candidates, overseen by FA CEO Mark Bullingham and men's technical director John McDermott. Thomas Tuchel, lauded as UEFA and FIFA's coach of the year in 2021 for his achievements at Chelsea, emerged as the prime candidate.

During his stint in Paris, where he clinched the league and steered Paris Saint-Germain to a Champions League final, Tuchel remarked: "I am very proud to have been given the honor of leading the England team.

"I have long felt a personal connection to the game in this country, and it has given me some incredible moments already. To have the chance to represent England is a huge privilege, and the opportunity to work with this special and talented group of players is very exciting."

He further added: "Working closely with Anthony as my assistant coach, we will do everything we can to make England successful and the supporters proud. I want to thank the FA, in particular Mark and John, for their trust and I am looking forward to starting our journey together."
