Tackling window grime can be a real headache , but with the right tools, it's a breeze. Cleaning guru Laura Mountford, known as @lauracleanaholic on social media, has revealed that windows tend to get grimier in the fall due to increased moisture levels.

She explained: " Windows become foggy due to condensation , laundry drying, humidity, and the change in temperature." She emphasized the importance of maintaining proper ventilation and airflow during colder months to prevent mold and mildew accumulation in homes. But fear not, achieving streak-free windows is simple, according to Laura's advice to The Express.

She suggested: "The quickest hack for cleaning your windows is to use a mop and hot soapy water. Clean the windows and frames then use a window [vacuum] to remove all the soapy water residue."

Dish soap, which is formulated to break down dirt, oil, and grease, will make short work of most glass stains and leave no streaks when mixed with water into a sudsy solution. Alternatively, for those who prefer, white vinegar can replace dish soap as it evaporates swiftly, ensuring windows are left without any lingering residue, reports the Express .

Laura said: "Using this method is quick, easy and cost-effective. It is also really satisfying to clean your windows this way. You will be able to clean one window in less than five minutes."

To start, brush the windows and frames to remove any cobwebs and dust. Then, fill a bucket with hot water and a small amount of washing-up liquid.

Use a mop and the cleaning solution to quickly clean the glass. If possible, use a window vacuum to remove the soapy water residue, and then use a microfibre cloth to polish the glass.

Laura added: "The key to leaving windows with a streak-free shine is using a high-quality microfibre cloth to give them a final polish after cleaning."

She recommends the Spontex Window and Glass cloth, which is her favorite due to its XL size, thickness, and fantastic quality. It leaves windows and glass shining.

After polishing the windows, Laura uses Flash Spray Wipe Done to make them shine and a Spontex window cloth to prevent streaks. This quick and easy method makes cleaning windows an almost effortless and fuss-free chore that can be done in no time.

Laura said: "Using this method will leave your windows sparkling and allow as much light as possible into your home during the darker autumn months."
