A 19-year-old has been accused of shooting a teenager in Portland.

Dominic Moncada-Sanchez of Portland was charged with aggravated attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault and violating his conditions of release, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.

Police found the 17-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound on Forest Avenue about 2:21 a.m. Tuesday, Nadeau said.

The teen, whose identity wasn’t released, was taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The teen is now in stable condition, Nadeau said.

Moncada-Sanchez was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in South Portland.

He is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
