Love Is Blind star Tim Godbee revealed where he and his ex-fiancée, Alex Byrd , stand after fans saw their tense breakup in episode 10.

“There is much left out from our story, some of which out of an attempt to protect something I once held dear,” Tim, 33, began in a post shared via Instagram on Wednesday, October 16. “I am far from a perfect person. I make mistakes and fall short of glory as often as others. I don't expect everyone to love or agree with what I have to say, but I have to display an amount of respect for myself and my family if it is not given by others. Meet people where they are.”

The web content strategist continued, “I have never argued with someone with the amount of consistency I did as with this experience. Many of which I did my best to keep off camera. Through hours of tough conversations that weren't seen, I made the decision to remove myself from what felt like a toxic situation where I was being manipulated and given no serious effort from my partner. I truly believe if someone displayed the same behavior to a partner and the genders reversed the conversation around our story would be entirely different.”

Tim also clarified that he wasn’t sharing the information to be seen as “a victim,” but to point out the “the lack of accountability and sincere self-reflection that one should do when they subject anyone to such consistently mean spirited treatment, let alone to someone you claim to love.” He explained that his relationship with Alex, 33, was “draining” him “emotionally and mentally.”

“I hate that my attempt to find love ended in a situation where I can't even be friendly with a person I used to love because we live in what feels like two different realities. To frame me as an angry or controlling person is a projection of all the stereotypes I have to work against because of who I was born into this world as. I was not looking forward to reliving this. There is nothing left to say. There is nothing left to talk about. Do the work. Be better. Grow. Move in peace but always be willing to defend yourself and the ones you love,” Tim concluded.

While Tim and Alex developed a deep connection in the pods during Love Is Blind season 7, their relationship hit several rocky patches after they met in person. During the cast’s trip to Cabo San Lucas, fans saw the aftermath of an argument Tim and Alex had off-camera that led to him almost breaking off their engagement. However, they chose to continue, but things came to a head when Alex took a nap after Tim’s parents drove 10 hours to meet her.

“Some things happened in regards to my parents that I didn’t really appreciate,” Tim told Alex. “I understood you were sleepy but my parents drove 10 hours here to meet you. As soon as the cameras cut, you decided to go to sleep at the first opportunity. These are the most important people in my life, and all I have left in this world , and the choice you made in that moment was to go to sleep.”

Despite Alex attempting to explain and hopefully mend the relationship, Tim ended things right then and there.

What Happened to Leo and Brittany From ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 7?

“There’s a lot I could respond to, but there is no scenario that I see myself standing there and saying yes to making you my wife forever,” he said during the former couple’s heated conversation. “And with that in mind, and I’m glad that we can at least agree, that I don’t ever want to see you again.”
