'Not going to happen': Military analyst snaps at Trump apologist for shouting over him

A CNN panel that took up Donald Trump's continuing relationship with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin quickly went off the rails on Wednesday after a CNN military analyst snapped at a Trump advocate shouting over him and accused him of attempting to "put words in my mouth."

Appearing with host Jim Acosta, who later had to shout at conservative David Urban for refusing to stop yelling over him, CNN's Col. Cedric Leighton (ret) laughed when Urban claimed that no one has been tougher than Trump when it comes to Putin.

Breaking down multiple incursions that Putin has made into other countries, Leighton grew incensed when the conservative advocate claimed he was making the same points he had just made about Russia.

"No, no, no, David, you are putting words in my mouth and that's not going to happen," Leighton exclaimed as Urban scowled. "Now here's one of the key things that you have to look at is, under the Obama administration, the Russians invaded Crimea and they invaded the Donbas region – that is true, yeah. When you look at, you look at what [journalist Bob] Woodward wrote in 'War,' it's very clear that the Biden administration, or at least Biden himself, thinks that was a mistake, and I agree with that assessment."

"Now what happened during this – ," he continued as Urban shouted, "But that didn't happen during the Trump administration."

"Hold on, hold on!" the former Air Force officer shot back. "What happened during the Trump administration was that the Russians were preparing to do this invasion, and nobody did anything to stop this invasion – that's the key point."

When Urban laughed, Leighton continued, " No," as Urban interrupted him with, "Colonel, you're wrong."

What followed after that was the two talking over each other before host Acosta regained control and remarked, "Go ahead, colonel."

"Don't tell me, don't tell anybody in America that this wasn't going on during the Trump administration because it was also, David," Leighton admonished him.
