Raiders players who could hear their name ahead of NFL trade deadline and why they will or won't be traded

The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-4 right now, and with some difficult games coming up against the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Chiefs again, they could very well be sellers at the deadline. We know the fan base and some media members want and suggest that the team tank this year so they can finally get their quarterback.

Being sellers at the deadline would only help them become a better tank team if that's how you want to phrase it. Or, who knows, they could win their next five games for all we know and think they have a legit shot at the playoffs. That is also possible. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they won't win their next five games.

And, with the trade deadline being at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 5, by the end of Week 9, the Raiders may start to hear some of their player's names in the rumor mill. The trade deadline is a time when we will hear 1,000 different rumors and possible trades, but only a small percentage of them actually happen.

With a team like the Raiders, we may see quite a few names being thrown out there. In this exercise, my job is to tell you which ones you could hear, and if they will actually happen or not.

Raiders players whose names will be said at the deadline

    Maxx Crosby, DE

This one is obvious. The best defensive end in the league, the best player on the Raiders, and a guy who has dealt with losing for far too long now, could be fed up with losing. That's a fair case to make. But, he has said that he is a Raider for life. He has the shield tattoed on himself.

His name, with recent injuries like Aidan Hutchinson, has been thrown out there lately to the Detroit Lions and others. But, I'm here to shut all of that down, immediately. He is not going anywhere. In fact, I think that even if he requested a trade the Raiders wouldn't do it. He is the ultimate Raider and owner Mark Davis just said on Tuesday they will not be trading him.

    Jack Jones, CB

Jones came to the Raiders last year off of the waiver wire and was immediately the best cornerback on the roster not named Nate Hobbs, who is a nickel in this defense. He had two pick-sixes, against divisional opponents in the Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, but has had a very rough start this year.

His contract makes him a player teams would like to go for. And, the talent is there, that's undeniable. He just has a habit of making mistakes and taking plays off. If a team feels like they can get to him, a change of scenery again may not be a bad idea. The only problem is, even with his mistakes and taking plays off lately, Jones is still the second-best cornerback on the team, now that Jakorian Bennett has been playing well.

You may hear Jones' name, but I doubt he gets traded.

    Tyree Wilson, DE

Wilson is a former first-round pick, a top-seven pick at that. And, he would garner a lot of attention seeing that this is his second year, and he has definitely gotten better than he was last year. Frankly, the fan base is upset with how he has played. And, that's understandable. But, he was a very raw prospect to begin with. Wilson could have his name thrown around during the deadline.

Now, will he be traded? I'm not sure. I'd have to say no, but of these three, and these are the only three I think really have a chance to have rumor circulate about them, I think if I had to pick one to be traded it would be Wilson. He could use a change of scenery.
