Ever since its introduction in 1981—and subsequent re-introductions—the McRib sandwich has been a topic of hot debate amongst McDonald's fans: There are those who wish it was on the menu permanently, and others who would rather it disappeared forever.

Unfortunately, even McRib-lovers seem to be disappointed with the menu item's return in the UK. The barbecue pork patty is back for a limited time overseas for the first time in nearly a decade—but it's apparently not living up to the expectations of some customers.

Side-by-side images posted to X compared the McRib's advertisement photo to a pic of the actual sandwich, and there were some obvious differences.

"@McDonaldsUK how can you call this a McRib??? When that’s the advertisement photo and there’s a dribble of sauce on the actual sandwich? Not happy," read the caption.

Other frustrated X users agreed with the poster's assessment.

"Glad I’m not the only one who feels like this the lack of sauce is rediculous [sic]!" wrote one commenter .

"Lazy employees," agreed someone else .

A video posted to TikTok of a McDonald's employee preparing a McRib sparked a similar reaction, with viewers wondering why so little sauce was being used.

"Looks clapped ngl poverty amount of bbq sauce," complained one commenter.

"Why's it not dipped anymore?" another TikTok user wanted to know.

"Would rather they did it the old way and have it smothered in the tray, in the sauce. It just looks dry now," a third person agreed.
