Yachats, OR – A hazmat team from Lebanon Fire District, Albany Fire Department, and Corvallis Fire responded to a truck rollover on U.S. Highway 101, just south of Yachats. The truck, which was carrying two massive pipes for a California overpass project, flipped onto its side when the rear wheels of the trailer went off the road.

The driver, who was avoiding another vehicle, managed to climb out safely despite one of the truck’s fuel tanks being partially crushed under its weight. Hazmat crews quickly stabilized the vehicle and safely prepared to pump out the fuel, preventing any environmental hazards.

Thanks to the rapid response of the fire departments and hazmat team, the road has since been reopened.
