The Atlanta Braves will have to start making some decisions soon about club options for the 2025 season.

Atlanta will have to make some decisions shortly after the World Series ends. That is going to be in just a few weeks. The Braves will have to make some tough decisions, and one will involve catcher Travis d'Arnaud. The one-time All-Star has been with the Braves for the last five years and has a club option on his deal worth $8 million for the 2025 season.

The Braves will have a choice to make soon, and Spotrac's Michael Ginnitti predicted that the Braves ultimately will end up turning it down .

"Travis d’Arnaud (catcher, Braves)," Ginnitti said. "Option: $8M (no buyout). The 36-year-old split much of 2024 with the well-paid Sean Murphy (who battled an oblique injury early on), and his $8M 2025 option matches his 2024 compensation.

"The problem? Murphy’s salary jumps up $6M ($9M to $15M) in 2025, meaning the Braves would be allocated $23M to their catchers for the upcoming season. It’s not out of the question, but it’s also not something most franchises would sign up for. Prediction: Declined."

A deal worth $8 million isn't out of the question. Atlanta could afford a deal like that. He launched 15 home runs and drove in 48 runs in 99 games played. d’Arnaud has been with the Braves over the last five seasons and was an All-Star in 2022. It would be sad to see him go, and we should find out how the Braves will handle his contract situation in the very near future.
