Former Lightning Defender Calls It A Career

Former Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman has retired from professional hockey. In addition, he is starting a new career in a different sport, as he has been hired as a coach by Skultorps IF, a Swedish women's soccer team.

Stralman, 38, spent five years (2014-15 to 2018-19) of his 16-year NHL career as a member of the Lightning. In 355 games as a Bolt, the right-shot defenseman had 29 goals, 130 points, and a plus-80 rating. He also had three goals and 15 points in 49 playoff games with the Lightning.

Stralman had his best NHL season as a member of the Lightning, as he set career highs with nine goals, 30 assists, and 39 points in 82 games during the 2014-15 campaign.

In 938 career NHL games, Stralman had 63 goals, 230 assists, 293 points, and a plus-46 rating.
