New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams was a full participate in his first practice with his new team and said he'd "be ready to roll" while addressing reporters on Wednesday (October 16).

Adams, 31, hasn't played since September 22 due to a hamstring injury, but appears to be ready for Sunday's (October 20) game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Yeah, whatever a full load is, but definitely I'll be ready to roll," Adams said via NFL Network 's Mike Garafolo . "I've been feeling good right now, I was running around today, we had a walk-through, jog-through practice today but it was good, it felt good running around."

Adams was acquired by the Jets weeks after requesting a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders received a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-round pick based on performance in return for Adams, NFL Network 's Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday (October 15).

“It’s been a rollercoaster for sure,” Adams said via SNY Jets . “It’s a weird thing to say that I’m happy, but obviously it was time for a change. This whole thing kind of transpired a little weird, but at the end of the day, we’re in a better place. I think the Raiders are in a better place as well. Everybody can kind of move on. But definitely been a rollercoaster. It was a little bit up and down and left and right, here and there, but we ultimately got it done.”

The move reunites Adams with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers , his teammate for his first eight NFL seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Trade speculation centered around Adams, who hasn't played since September 22 due to a hamstring injury, reignited after comments made by Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce in Week 3.

Pierce responded, "No, they didn't," when asked by a reporter during his postgame press conference if his team showed up following a 36-22 loss to the previously winless Carolina Panthers at home on September 22 and claimed "there were some individuals that made business decisions, so we'll make business decisions going forward as well," ESPN 's Paul Gutierrez reported. The comments were made after Adams appeared to be disgusted and sat on the bench as his teammates went into the locker room down 21-7 at halftime.

Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown through his first three games of the 2024 season. The California native was a first-team All-Pro for three consecutive seasons from 2020 to 2022, a Pro Bowler for six consecutive seasons from 2017 to 2022 and the NFL receiving touchdowns leader in 2020 and 2022.
