ESPN’s “College GameDay" is on pace to have one of its best seasons ever, and the numbers are showing for it.

With Nick Saban's addition to a team that already included Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and Kirk Herbstreit, the show has done wonders in 2024.

Week 7’s edition of "College GameDay" was in Eugene, Oregon, ahead of the Top 3 matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks. Ahead of Week 8, ESPN shared some ratings with the public.

"College GameDay" is averaging 2.2 million viewers each show, up 9% from last year. It’s also posted its three most-watched pre-November episodes since 2009.

On Wednesday, Davis appeared as a guest on " The Next Round " podcast to discuss "College GameDay's" historical season.

While he credited the expansion of the College Football Playoff, realignment and the crew's individual perspectives for the show's 2024 success, he made sure to highlight Saban's relationship with McAfee.

"The chemistry that he's (Saban) had with Pat McAfee because the odd couple formula has worked on the silver screen, on Broadway, on television, always works," Davis said. "And those two guys like each other, and they have great chemistry."

Davis also got into specifics regarding what Saban's brought to the table.

"The dynamic of having Nick Saban on the set has first created curiosity and then delivered components of must-see television," Davis added. "You don't want to miss what he might have to say."

“College GameDay” in Week 8 will be live from Austin, Texas, this Saturday.

The show will kick off at 9 a.m. ET, ahead of the highly anticipated matchup between the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 1 Texas Longhorns.
