Packers feel like they have dodged another bullet at key offensive position

It seems like second-year wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks won't be out for long. The former fifth-round pick, who left the Arizona Cardinals game early with a shoulder injury and was considered week-to-week because of it, was already back at practice on Wednesday.

"Yes, absolutely," Packers head coach Matt Lafleur answered when asked if they had dodged a bullet with Wicks. "He was limited."

It's not the first potentially serious injury that ends up being not so serious for Green Bay this season. Quarterback Jordan Love's knee is obviously the big one, but fellow wide receiver Christian Watson had what could have been a huge ankle injury but missed only one game.

Wide receiver Jayden Reed (ankle) and center Josh Myers (neck), who also missed snaps during the Cardinals game because of injury, were both at practice as well.

Injury report

The only three players who did not practice on Wednesday were defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt, who already missed the last two games with an ankle injury, defensive tackle Colby Wooden (new knee injury), and left guard Elgton Jenkins, who has stayed out of practice most Wednesdays with a combination of a knee issue and veteran rest.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander (groin), defensive tackle Kenny Clark (toe), tight end Tucker Kraft (groin), center Josh Myers (neck), wide receivers Jayden Reed (ankle), Christian Watson (ankle), and Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) were all limited.

First practice

The Packers new kicker, Brandon McManus , practiced in Green Bay for the first time. He said his civil lawsuit because of sexual assault and harassment allegations has been resolved in court, in addition to him being cleared to play by the NFL.

During league meetings, general manager Brian Gutekunst addressed the situation.

"I think the league did a really thorough investigation," Gutekunst mentioned. "And we leaned on that as we went through it."

Head coach Matt LaFleur said that McManus looked "great" in practice.
