A change in weather is expected across Central California as a cold front brings cooler temperatures, increased winds, and some precipitation. Temperatures will trend downward through Friday, with a warmup expected by Saturday. A High Wind Warning is in effect for the Mojave Desert Slopes from 8 PM Wednesday through 11 AM Friday, and a Wind Advisory will be in place for the West Side Hills and Kern County Deserts from Thursday night into Friday. Winds could reach over 40 mph in these areas.

Rain is possible in and around Yosemite National Park, with a 45-90% chance of precipitation through early Thursday. The San Joaquin Valley will see a lower chance of rain, ranging from 10-25%. In the Sierra Nevada, there is a 20% chance of snow above 8,000 feet, with Tioga Pass having a nearly 50% chance of light snowfall.

As the second storm system moves through the region, unsettled conditions will continue, but significant precipitation is unlikely. However, strong winds are expected to persist through Friday morning. Temperatures are forecasted to stay in the upper 70s to low 80s today, dropping further through the end of the week.
