Shannon Sharpe Makes His Opinion of Jerry Jones Extremely Clear

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones received backlash on Tuesday from fans on social media after his fiery comments toward a local radio host at 105.3 The Fan.

"Your job isn't to let me go over all the reasons that I did something and I'm sorry that I did it," Jones said in response to a question about the Cowboys' offseason moves. "That's not your job. I'll get somebody else to ask these questions. I'm not kidding. ... You really think you're gonna sit here with a microphone and tell me all of the things that I've done wrong without going over the rights?"

The public hits kept on coming for Jones in the media, too.

During Tuesday's episode of "First Take," co-host Shannon Sharpe sounded off on Jones, later declaring himself "out" on supporting the NFL's most powerful owner.

"To put a man in fear for his job," Sharpe said. "I hate, I detest, I despise someone that would prey on the weak. And because Jerry Jones is in an advantageous situation ... he would actually say that publicly. That tells me a lot about a man."

He added shortly after, "Jerry wants all the credit when things go well, but none of the blame."

The Hall of Fame tight end-turner-analyst insinuated that Jones' threat would likely result in fewer (or possibly no) "tough" questions for the billionaire NFL mogul during his future guest appearances on 105.3 The Fan.

"I don't take this lightly," Sharpe added. "If the Cowboys don't win another playoff game or another game as long as Jerry Jones is the owner, I'll be the happiest man in the world. ... For Jerry to say this publicly, I'm out."

The 82-year-old Jones, whose 3-3 Cowboys have the third-worst turnover differential (-6) and are giving up the third-most points per game (28.0) through Week 6, had some equally fiery thoughts back in Aug. after an interview with All City DLLS .

"Hell no, there’s nobody that could f****** come in here and do all the contracts … and be a GM any better than I can," Jones said at the time. "Plus, I’m where the buck stops. When it f**** up, I got to cover it."
