LSU vs Arkansas Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

With five wins in a row, and a great gut-check win over Ole Miss, LSU is now firmly in the College Football Playoff chase. It’s on, though, with this, a date at Texas A&M to follow, the showdown against Alabama, and with dangerous dates as a favorite against Florida, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma to close.
Arkansas has been a blast. It lost tough close games against Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, but it’s coming off a two week break after stunning Tennessee. Four of the next five games are at home, with the lone road game against a bad Mississippi State team.

Why LSU Will Win
The LSU offensive line continues to be fantastic.
Fourth in the nation sacks allowed, fourth in the nation in tackles for loss allowed, the line is overcoming the lack of a ground game by giving Garrett Nussmeier time to let the downfield plays to develop. He’s got the arm, vision, and strength to get the all anywhere, and he’s picking everyone apart.
Nussmeier might not have been accurate enough against Ole Miss, but he threw for 337 yards and three scores. He’s hit multiple touchdown passes in every game and gone for over 300 yards against every FBS team. Arkansas gives up 215 passing yards per game.
Arkansas doesn’t get behind the line. It averages just five tackles for loss per game, and on the other side, the line is giving up too many pops on the quarterback.
The Arkansas star quarterback is at least close to being back in the mix after suffering a knee injury against Tennessee. Great so far, he’s a difference-maker who’s doing enough through the air to worry about. If he can’t go,
Malachi Singleton is a dangerous freshman who can do a little of everything, too.
To have any shot against LSU you need to be able to keep up the pace. Arkansas might not be running as well as it would like, but it's eighth in the nation in total offense and can keep the chains moving.
Best of all in this, the Hogs should control the time of possession battle - they hold the ball for over 33 minutes a game.
Keeping LSU and Nussmeier off the field is a big deal.
LSU vs Arkansas: Who Will Win
These two playing have been a blast this year.
LSU will try to make this a bit of a shootout, Arkansas will make this more of a low scoring battle. The Hogs have been able to make teams play their style and pace - look at the Tennessee game - but LSU will push through with a few late scoring drives.
