Shaquille O'Neal Urges Jerry Jones To Sign Super Bowl-Winning RB

The Dallas Cowboys find themselves with a 3-3 record going into their bye week after suffering one of their worst losses in recent memory in Week 6 as the Detroit Lions came into Arlington, TX, and dominated Jerry Jones' team 47-9.

One of the biggest issues the Cowboys have faced so far this season has been the run game or a lack thereof. Led by running backs Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas ranks dead-last in the NFL on the ground, averaging 77.2 yards per contest. Dowdle has seen the majority of the carries in Big D, but his output has been underwhelming.

Former NBA and Los Angeles Lakers superstar Shaquille O'Neal believes he has the solution for Jones and the Cowboys at running back. On a recent episode of " The Big Podcast with Shaq ," O'Neal brought on former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and Super Bowl winner Leonard Fournette. At one point in the episode, Shaq looked right at the camera and had a message for Jones, urging him to sign his fellow LSU Tiger.

"Jerry Jones, it's me, your boy Shaq," O'Neal said. "Look at [Fournette]. Looking good, six-pack is tight. He's ready to go. All right, Jerry Jones. Stop messing around, Jerry Jones. My man is right here... The man is sitting right here, Mr. Jones. Stop playing around and sign my man up."

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Fournette as the No. 4 pick in the 2017 NFL draft. After three seasons, Fournette was cut by the Jags, leading to him signing with Tampa Bay. In seven seasons in the NFL, Fournette recorded 1,137 carries for 4,498 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also added 2,219 yards and seven scores through the air.

Fournette wouldn't necessarily be a huge upgrade for the Cowboys at running back. He brings similar skills and experience that Elliott and backup Dalvin Cook bring to the offense, as all three are at the tail end of their NFL careers.
