SEATTLE, WA – Cooler temperatures and unsettled weather are forecast for Western Washington through Thursday afternoon, with rain, breezy winds, and a chance of isolated thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. A cold front passed through earlier today, and while there's currently a break in the rain, colder air moving in could trigger some isolated thunderstorms, particularly along the coast and in the Puget Sound Convergence Zone.

Snow is also expected in higher elevations, with light accumulations of 1-3 inches possible at Stevens Pass and Rainy Pass by Thursday morning as snow levels drop to 3,500 feet.

After a brief break in precipitation on Friday, an atmospheric river is set to arrive over the weekend, bringing moderate to heavy rain. The Olympic Mountains could see up to 6 inches of rain, while the Cascades may receive 2-3 inches. Gusty winds of up to 40 mph are forecast for the north coast and interior regions. A high-pressure system on Monday should bring a short reprieve from the wet weather.
