It doesn't make any sense,” Junior Minters said.News 4 reached out to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office for clarification on why deputies detained the 14-year-old instead of the other participant in the altercation.While they did not answer that specific question, they provided a statement regarding the incident.“Deputies responded to a call for service on Saturday, October 12, at North Valleys High School. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a high-tension environment, with multiple adults and juveniles fighting. For everyone’s safety—including deputies, those fighting, and the growing, frenzied crowd of parents, coaches, and other attendees—deputies began separating and detaining individuals while working to de-escalate the situation and determine what was occurring. The juvenile shown in a short video clip circulating online was released.
