Tennessee Football issued its first injury report for Alabama week Wednesday night, with redshirt freshman left tackle Lance Heard back on the list as probable and sophomore running back Cam Seldon listed as questionable.

Seldon hasn’t played since the 25-15 win at Oklahoma on September 21. Heard has played the last two weeks after missing the Oklahoma game.

No. 11 Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC) hosts No. 7 Alabama (5-1, 2-1) are scheduled on Saturday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time start (TV: ABC) at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols lost senior middle linebacker Keenan Pili to a torn ACL after just his second snap of the game Saturday night against Florida. The BYU transfer linebacker last season was lost for the year in the first game, suffering an arm injury in the win over Virginia at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Jourdan Thomas , Edwin Spillman and Ben Bolton were the only three players ruled out for the Florida game, after wide receivers Bru McCoy , Squirrel White and Dont’e Thronton , as well as defensive back Christian Harrison , all listed on the first two injury reports last week.

Keenan Pili leads Vols with 29.0 tackles in six games

Pili is tied with Will Brooks for the team lead in tackles through six games, with 29.0. He has 1.5 tackles for loss and three quarterback hurries.

He had a season-high 10 tackles in Tennessee’s 19-14 loss at Arkansas. Pili had five tackles at Oklahoma, three tackles against Kent State, four against North Carolina State and two in the opener against Chattanooga. He had 0.5 tackles for loss against NC State and 1.0 at Oklahoma.

Without Pili available for all but two plays against Florida, Jeremiah Telander led the linebacker snap count with 67. Arion Carter had 67, Kalib Perry played 35 and Jalen Smith played 19.

Head coach Josh Heupel said Monday that filling the void left by Pili will be done using those same names.

“(We) have rotated there,” Heupel said, “and feel good about all of those guys that you’ve seen in action already.”

    SEC Injury Reports

The SEC in August announced “availability reports” for football, basketball and baseball .

“This availability reporting policy is intended to reduce pressure from outside entities seeking participation information,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey , “and represents a commitment of our 16 institutions to provide enhanced transparency to support efforts to protect our student-athletes and the integrity of competition.”

Players will be listed as available, probable, questionable, doubtful or out for their next game. On game day the updates will include available, game-time decision or out.

Schools of who fail to provide accurate and timely availability reports will be subject to penalties from $25,000, for first-time offenders, to $100,000 for “third and further” offenses in football. Men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball fines will be between $15,000 and $25,000.
