For the most part, everything that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce touch turns into gold . This is one of the perks of being arguably the most popular woman on the planet right now and the star tight end of the two-time NFL defending champions Kansas City Chiefs.

There are exceptions to the rule, though. A case in point is the latest Lifetime holiday movie which is inspired by the real-life romance of Swift and Kelce. On Tuesday, Lifetime announced the network's 2024 "It's a Wonderful Lifetime" holiday slate. This includes a movie entitled "Christmas in the Spotlight," which is a romcom that centers on the relationship between a popular musician and a professional football player.

The Hollywood Reporter provided the details of the upcoming film, which they shared on X. The post quickly went viral and has now amassed 2.6 million views as of writing.

The fans, however, were not exactly thrilled about the news. In fact, the film is already receiving a fair amount of backlash even before its TV debut.

"Another company using them to make💰" a comment read.

"I have second hand embarrassment just from reading the synopsis. Hard pass," said another.

"We won’t be watching, its weird," declared a Swift fan.

"It's Lifetime so it's probably going to suck," surmised a reader.

"This is so weird to do, once again Taylor's name is used for clout," reacted a Swiftie.

"I hate everything about this. 🙄" a comment read.

"This is so cringe," a user stated.

"Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it does," said another.

While it does not seem like this movie will officially be endorsed by the couple, there's no denying that the story is loosely based on the Swift-Kelce romance.

“With each passing day they spend together, their feelings grow stronger … but can it last in the limelight, especially when they both have such hectic schedules? With people questioning if their feelings for each other are real or just for show, the pressure mounts from the press, paparazzi, their fans and even their family,” the movie description reads.

"Christmas in the Spotlight" will premiere on Lifetime on Nov. 23. However, based on the reactions on X, not too many fans are looking forward to this release date.
