Maya told podcast The Internet Is Dead she felt his reaching out was "manipulation tactic" telling hosts: "I always felt like it was so I’d continue to feel bad for him. He would always message me ever since we broke up, like ‘Oh, I’m not well.’ He would always play with death and be like, ‘Well, I’m gonna die. I’m not doing well."

Maya broke her silence following the tragic death of the One Direction star on Wednesday, with a representative saying: "Right now she is obviously in shock". However, may 1D fans posted sickening comments aimed at Maya after she spoke out about her relationship with Liam in recent weeks.
