The Virginia Cavaliers are already seeing improvement thanks to UVA legend Kyle Guy, per Jerry Ratcliffe . The alumnus shooting guard has joined the coaching staff as an athlete/development mentor which the whole team is benefiting from.

Head coach Tony Bennett was very pleased with what Guy has done with the team. “He helps us competition-wise, but he is doing a ton of stuff with skill development," said Bennett. “Even for Taine and Isaac and the other guys, just for a guy who has been in that space who understands it, who has dealt with the ups and downs of college athletics, I think it’s terrific.”

Guy has also been personally working with the guards of the team, and inspiring and helping them to become better. Isaac McKneely, the team’s current deep-range shooter, feels like Guy brings out the competitive edge in them.

“It has been really good for me and Taine’s (Murray) development just getting to go against him in practice and the individual workouts outside of practice,” McNeely said. “It’s been really good. I’m thankful to have him back.”

UVA’s program was left out of the AP Top 25, and was 11th in the ACC , so Guy’s return could definitely put them back at the top.
