For 15 years, Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi has held the record for the most points in a single postseason in WNBA history. On Wednesday, however, someone finally took the record from her.

Entering Game 3 of the WNBA Finals between the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty, Taurasi owned the single-season record for playoff points with 245, which she achieved back in 2009.

However, Lynx star Napheesa Collier was closing in on that record after having already tallied 227 points heading ito the game.

Collier proceeded to drop 22 points in the contest, allowing her to surpass Taurasi and make history in the process.

Making things even better, Napheesa Collier did it in just 10 games . Diana Taurasi achieved her record in 11 outings with the Mercury at the time.

For what it's worth, though, the Sun ended up winning the WNBA championship during the same run that Taurasi set a then-league record for postseason points. They ousted the Indiana Fever in five games, 3-2.

As for Collier and the Lynx, they fell to the Liberty in Game 3 with a score of 88-77--courtesy of a cold-blooded Sabrina Ionescu triple . The loss definitely spoiled an otherwise momentous night for the reigning Defensive Player of the Year.
