Indiana Hoosiers Welcome FOX Sports Big Noon Kickoff Show

Thanks to their 6-0 start, the Indiana Hoosiers welcome FOX Big Noon Kickoff to Bloomington on Saturday morning. The Hoosiers play their biggest game of the year when they host Nebraska in a Big Ten showdown.

Indiana Hoosiers Continue to Grab National Attention

At 6-0, #16 Indiana is off to their best start since 1967 when the Hoosiers last played in the Rose Bowl. The college football world has taken notice. And now FOX Sports is hopping on the bandwagon. They’ll be hosting their nationally televised college football show from the Bloomington campus on Saturday morning. This will be Big Noon Kickoff’s second appearance at Indiana. Big Noon Kickoff visited Indiana when the Hoosier hosted Michigan on October 8, 2022. That show was broadcast on the South Plaza at Memorial Stadium. The exact location for Saturday’s show is yet to be determined. Take the over on how many Indiana students will show up.

    Sellout Crowd Expected

Indiana has announced the game is officially sold out. Indiana has not sold out a football game since #5 Ohio State visited Bloomington on October 23, 2021. They drew the same size crowd a few weeks earlier – on September 18, 2021 – for a game against #8 Cincinnati. Indiana Hoosiers fans are excited by the teams undefeated start and a high-flying offense averaging 47.5 points per game – second in the FBS. Nebraska fans love their Cornhuskers and travel well.

    Cignetti Keeps the Hoosiers Winning

First-year Indiana Hoosiers coach Curt Cignetti has lived up to the famous remarks he made at this introductory press conference when he said: “I’m Curt Cignetti. I win. Google me.” The Hoosiers haven’t lost since Cignetti arrived in Bloomington and overhauled the roster. Yet critics argue Indiana has played a weak schedule. Their three conference wins have come against teams in the bottom five of the Big Ten Standings.

The coming weeks will reveal whether or not the Indiana Hoosiers are for real. The first challenge is a visit from traditional football powerhouse Nebraska. With a 5-1 record, Matt Rhule’s Cornhuskers only loss came in overtime against #22 Illinois. The host Hoosiers opened as a four-point favorite. As of Monday morning, the line had moved 5.5 points in Indiana’s favor.

    Big Weekend in Bloomington

Asked about what he expects from the home crowd, Coach Cignetti remarked: “I think it’s more about us performing as well as we’re capable of performing, and give the crowd a reason to really get into the game, which I’m highly confident we will. We have up to this point every time we’ve gone out, and a lot of confidence in this group. It’s an experienced group, high-character guys. We feed off each other.

This is a huge weekend in Bloomington. In addition to the big football game, it’s Indiana’s homecoming weekend. And on Friday night, Hoosier Hysteria marks the beginning of the basketball season. Hoosier fans hope IU’s football team can live up to the high standard set by the five-time national champion Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball team.
