'You don’t know what you’re talking about': Journalist unloads on GOP strategist on CNN

A popular commentator fired back at a Republican strategist during a Wednesday night panel discussion fueled by a clip of Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) criticizing big tech companies, which he said “censored Americans from talking about things like the Hunter Biden laptop story.”

“And that had a major, major consequence on the election,” Vance said in the clip at a Pennsylvania rally on Wednesday.

Journalist Kara Swisher told her fellow CNN panelists on “NewsNight” that what Vance said “was nonsense.”

“There is no proof that tech companies colluded to do this – this is nonsense, and he knows it,” Swisher said.

That’s when Republican strategist Scott Jennings , seated next to Swisher, jumped in.

“Oh,” Jennings said as he and Swisher talked over each other. “There was a major institutional effort to suppress that story, come on.”

That, Swisher said, was “absolutely nonsense.”

“I have been one of the biggest critics of tech, this is nonsense,” she told Jennings .

Jennings next turned the heated exchange to whether the New York Post, which was wrapped up in the Biden laptop story, was “thrown off Twitter.”

“Scott let me try again to explain to you what actually happened,” Swisher said.

“She’s done actual reporting on this,” anchor Abby Phillip said as Jennings refused to budge on his position.

“And I lived through it too,” he shot back.

“Scott, literally you don’t know what you’re talking about, so it’s really hard to deal with you,” Swisher said.

“If you want to insult me go ahead,” Jennings told her.

Swisher had the final word in the back-and-forth between the two when she said there is not “wide collusion and J.D. Vance knows that because he’s worked in tech.”
