LYNCHBURG, Va. - In a tightly contested and physical match, the WildCats fall to the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan, 1-2. The first half was leveled for both teams defensively and offensively. The Marlins had five corner kicks to Randolph's three. Both teams held each other to less than five shots in the first half, the Marlins led 4-2. In the 18th minute, Virginia Wesleyan Nolan Schulte, assisted by Everett McCloskey found the back of the net to put the first point on the board. Randolph quickly looking for an equalizer pushed its offense, and it wasn't until late in the first half that the WildCats netted the equalizer from a well-placed cross from senior defender Colby Lambert off a Marlin defender to graduate student midfielder Cooper Sayles for the rebound to level the score, 1-1.
