Do Buccaneers Have 'Three-Headed Monster' At Running Back?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers obliterated the New Orleans Saints 51-27 to bounce back from their loss to the Atlanta Falcons and may have unearthed a potential key player in the process.

With starting running back Rachaad White out injured, it was up to rookie Bucky Irving and second-year back Sean Tucker to shoulder the load...and the pair, particularly Tucker, flourished.

Tucker finished his day with 136 yards and a touchdown from just 14 carries while also being an option in the passing game, with three catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.

For head coach Todd Bowles, Tampa now has a genuine three-headed monster at running back.

“It's definitely worthy of him making it a three-headed monster,” Bowles said . “He took advantage of his opportunities, he ran away from some tackles, some linebackers, he ran through the hole, he cut back, he made some great plays. He caught the ball well out of the backfield. So that gives us three-headed monsters.”

With White potentially out for another couple of weeks with his toe injury, the door of opportunity for both Irving and Tucker has swung open.

After their efforts against the Saints, now the pair must back it up against a stout Baltimore Ravens defense in what will be a true test of their newfound confidence.

The Ravens have yet to allow 100 rushing yards on the ground in any game, and their highest total has been just 81, so the Buccaneers, with Irving and Tucker, face a tough task to establish themselves.

But last week's performance gives the pair confidence, and knowing White will return sooner rather than later, this is a superb chance to force the coaching staff to make tough decisions down the line.

Starring against the Saints is one thing, but do it against the Ravens, and the outlook of the Buccaneers running back room might change going forward.
