According to a new report by WJTV, Hattiesburg-based company "Dirt Cheap" has filed for bankruptcy. According to the report, the "extreme value" chain with 60+ locations across the Southeast filed the documents with the District of Delaware last week and its stores will be holding "store closing" sales.

The company has locations in eight states including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. Jeffrey Martin, the company's chief restructuring officer, blamed Target for its financial struggles.

Martin accused Target of "giving the other company a better price for secondary merchandise, leaving Dirt Cheap with lower quality merchandise at a higher price".
