The Philadelphia 76ers have their fair share of fitness worries heading into the 2024-25 season. Paul George hyperextended his knee and suffered a bone bruise in their recent preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks.

On the other hand, Joel Embiid took limited part during training camp and has given preseason a miss altogether, as the Sixers look to find ways to help him reach the playoffs as healthy as possible.

Now, there seems to be some worry regarding Jared McCain as well. The 76ers rookie has made a positive impression over training camp and preseason, raising expectations around him.

McCain suffered a hard fall in preseason while playing against the Brooklyn Nets. The incident took place late in the game when the rookie tried to grab an offensive rebound after missing a layup.

He fell hard on his back and since then it has emerged that he had to be taken to the hospital to get checked out. Tim Bontemps posted on X :

This is not positive news for the Sixers. One can only hope that McCain is fine and that the steps being taken are all precautionary. We wish the 76ers rookie a speedy recovery and return to the court.

McCain had actually had a pretty good game against the Nets up until his injury. He scored 9 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and had 2 assists to his name in 23 minutes of basketball.

The extent of McCain's issue remains to be seen. Hopefully, it is nothing serious. We should know more soon.
