Domestic Violence Incident Leads to Multiple Charges for Grenada County Man

A man from Panola County was arrested at his home on charges of domestic violence- aggravated assault. Following the arrest, his home was searched and a significant amount of drugs and firearms was seized.

On October 11th, 2024, deputies with Grenada County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the home of Thomas Aronold "Tab" Benson regarding the domestic violence incident.

While at the home, deputies made the discovery that Benson had illegal narcotics in his possession.

This discovery prompted the deputies to seek a search warrant, which was then executed at Benson's residence. The search warrant was executed by Sheriff Hartley, multiple deputies, Grenada PD Narcotics, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.

According to Dark Horse Press, in total, the deputies seized seized 11 firearms, along with firearm accessories, including magazines, ammunition, suppressors, and military ordinances. In addition, they found methamphetamine and marijuana.

Benson has been charged with domestic violence- aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a convicgted felon, and felony possession of a controlled substance. He has been booked into Grenada Adult Detention Center.
