Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Colin MacRae Wins a 2024 International Cruiser Award

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 is decidedly missing one particular engineer. Colin MacRae was on the series from Season 2 to 4. Now, he’s sailing around the world on a katamaran. And recently, he got an award for his efforts.

While, Daisy Kelliher and Gary King are back to their dysfunctional work dynamic on Parsifal III, viewers are missing on the third corner of the messy love triangle that made Season 4. Perhaps Daisy is even feeling nervous about filming without him .

But Colin went on to renovate a katamaran that he lovingly named Parlay. He documents the voage around the world via Instagram. And it was from that endeavor that he received an 2024 International Cruiser Award.

Colin MacRae got to catch up with former Below Deck Sailing Yacht co-stars before winning his award

Colin was honored for the “best Instagram account of the year” award at the 2024 International Cruiser Awards on October 11. The former Bravolebrity even co-hosted the event with Captain Glenn Shephard in Annapolis, Maryland.

“Was an honor to win best Instagram account of the year at the international @cruisersawards this year! Huge shoutout to @youngcruisers and all the sponsors of the event!” Colin shared in a recent social media post.

As of Feburary 20, 2024, Colin hit half a million followers on Instagram. The former Below Deck Sailing Yacht star also has a YouTube channel. His social media presence is clear, and caught the attention of the award council. At the time, he was sailing around New Zealand and documenting the journey.

One notable moment had Colin participating in a regatta in Christchurch. He called it “honestly one of the craziest experiences” of his life, reaching speeds of of “46 knots.”

Meanwhile, Colin ran into another former co-star recently. Season 2 chef Natasha de Bourg shared a photo from the run-in on her own Instagram page .

“It was great catching up with you [Colin MacRae,]” Natasha captioned the post.
