Liam Payne had traveled to Argentina to watch his former bandmate Niall Horan perform, before sadly falling to his death just days later.

The 31-year-old , who died on Wednesday night after falling from a third-floor balcony of a hotel, had attended the concert with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy . Liam had shared a series of pictures and videos of the two of them with fans.

The clips showed the couple singing and dancing to Niall's songs as they attended the concert at the Movistar Arena. Liam sweetly kissed Kate on the head as they seemed to be in good spirits.

Liam shared the posts on his Snapchat and captioned one picture of himself posing next to Niall: "Reunited". Liam had told fans about their reunion in advance.

Earlier this month, Liam said he was looking forward to seeing Niall as they hadn't spoken for a while and needed to catch up. In one of the posts he shared after the show, Liam wrote: "So happy I got to see Niall in concert."

Niall is yet to speak out on Liam's death. The 31-year-old's family have issued a statement as they said they were "heartbroken" over the tragic news.

Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul," the statement from Liam's spokesperson read. "We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time."

Liam was staying with his girlfriend Kate before he died. She went back home two days prior to Liam's death and shared her reasonings on social media, saying she didn't like staying in the same place for too long.

Kate also explained how they had already extended their stay. It's unclear how long Liam was planning on staying in the country.

The Buenos Aires emergency services chief, Alberto Crescenti, issued a statement shortly after Liam's death. He said: "Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life.

"Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death."

Liam is survived by his son Bear, seven, and his mom Karen, dad Geoff, and two sisters.
