It gets hotter and hotter, or colder and colder through the days with no fall air in sight. Making everyone still feel the summer weather or even winter weather and not the fall weather everyone is expecting. No one can change the weather, but there are things everyone can do to get into the fall spirit. Pumpkin patchesPumpkin patches are a perfect way to gather your friends and make a day trip out to a farm. There are many farms around Cincinnati where they ask family and friends to come pick some of their pumpkins they’ve been growing! Some farms are Blooms and Berry’s Farm, Shaw Farms Market, Irons Fruit Farm and Hidden Valley Orchards. While you’re there you can find the perfect pumpkin, but also stop for some food ranging from apple cider, funnel cakes, fair type fries, and hot chocolate. Usually when at the pumpkin patch there are also many activities you can do, one being a corn maze. Drag your friends along and see if you can make it from start to finish without needing help except for a map, trying to figure out what way your map is taking you. This is also a great way to pick a pumpkin to carve or even paint to decorate your home or dorm. It would make a great hangout activity, and even perfect for a night of relaxing at home and hanging out with friends. Apple pickingApple picking is also another great way to get out of your house or dorm. Usually, apple picking starts at the beginning of September and goes on until the end of October, but you still have time to make your way to gather some apples before they are all gone. Like at the pumpkin patch many farms do apple picking. To name a few are Irons Fruit Farm, Apples Country Farm Market, Monnin’s Fruit Farm, and Pringles Orchid.Some farms do apple picking and have a pumpkin patch so you can always get the two in one deal while you're out! Apple farms are usually smaller than pumpkin patches, but you can still have an amazing time trying to find the right apples throughout the orchid. It might take a while, but you can find the perfect apples to take home. Apple picking is a great way to have a relaxing day. Without so much of the bustle and only trying to look for apples. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and quiet time while doing an activity.After you're done picking and arrive home you can always have your apples raw or make them into some delicious treats such as apple pie, apple cider donuts, and caramel apples. Cozy moviesTo stay cozy if you don’t like hot weather, strong winds, or some of the outdoor activities, is watching some of your favorite cozy movies at home by yourself or with friends. Some recommendations for some classic cozy movies to make it feel like fall with being at home are Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas (this can be debated if it’s a Halloween or Christmas movie, but still a cozy movie), It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, or Halloween Town to name a few. Even though some of these movies mostly relate to Halloween, it can get you into the feeling of fall when they are not scary movies but films you can laugh at while watching. Cozy up with some hot apple cider or hot chocolate and some of your favorite movie snacks. Wrap your biggest, coziest, softest blanket around you and enjoy a night in alone or with friends for a movie night! Going to a coffee shop and read a book or do homeworkTaking a sip of a pumpkin spice latte, apple cider, hot chocolate, or even your favorite drink from your favorite coffee shop while reading a book or doing a little bit of homework can make you bask in the fall flavoring. Sometimes just reading a book in a cozy coffee shop can make you feel warm and fuzzy. With the changing of the weather, sitting inside in a different place that’s not your home can feel relaxed. It can make you feel more focused and make you feel cozier without being outside in the crazy weather. There are many ways you can get out or stay in during these changes of weather to still make it feel like fall no matter how scorching hot it is or freezing cold.
