Millican leads the Alabama Mushroom Society as the club’s President and serves on the Executive Board of the North American Mycological Association. In addition, she is the assistant curator of fungi for the University of West Alabama Herbarium. The program was titled ‘Fungus among us,’ and Millican gave a comprehension talk on everything about mushrooms. First, you sign up for a Master Gardener Class. The classes are a blend of online lectures and in-person classes. As you participate in the lectures and classes you will also participate in hands-on volunteer work and complete a required number of volunteer hours to receive your certification as a Master Gardener.When is the next Master Gardener Class?Sign ups for the next CCMG class are Nov 1- 30. Call the Chilton County Extension Office at 205 280-6268 for more information, and their hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The cost is $175, however, if you sign up from November 1-15, you will save $25.
