Texas QB Arch Manning Could Replace $160 Million Former Super Bowl Champ

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is the talk of college football despite being the team's QB2. While not being a full-time starter, Manning is already generating buzz as a potential NFL quarterback.

Manning still has a lot to prove, but the quarterback is going to get the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise thanks to his last name. The quarterback is the son of Cooper Manning and nephew of NFL legends Peyton Manning and Eli Manning.

Potential NFL landing spots are a bit complicated as Manning is not eligible for the NFL draft until 2026. This means teams in the market for a signal-caller in the 2025 NFL draft make little sense for Manning.

Athlon recently discussed the New York Jets as a potential option with Manning replacing Aaron Rodgers. Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling outlined some additional landing spots for Manning.

One intriguing option could be pairing Manning with Los Angeles Rams offensive mastermind Sean McVay. Former Super Bowl winning quarterback Matthew Stafford's four-year, $160 million contract is slated to run through the 2026 season.

The Rams do have an out in Stafford's deal after the 2025 season. Going from Stafford to Manning at quarterback would not be a bad transition for Rams fans.

"Teams like the New York Jets ( Aaron Rodgers ) and Los Angeles Rams ( Matthew Stafford ) could be looking to move on from aging veterans potentially heading into retirement, while others like the New York Giants ( Daniel Jones ), New Orleans Saints ( Derek Carr ), Pittsburgh Steelers ( Justin Fields , Russell Wilson) and Tennessee Titans (Will Levis) could be looking for long-term upgrades over what they currently have at the top of the depth chart," Easterling wrote on Oct. 14.

Tap the breaks. He’s shown some signs in a couple of games. You want to see him play a full season and see how he performs under pressure in some big games

Weird that because he’s a Manning people has him getting drafted and talking as though he’ll be able to just walk in and lead a NFL team🤔🤔🤔🤔He’s the #2 quarterback on his own team 🤔🤔🤔Arch got a long ways to go and quite a few other quarterbacks that are just better.
