Buffalo. N.Y. (WBEN) - The Bills on Oct. 15 filed a complaint in State Supreme Court in Erie County against Rachel’s Mediterranean Management Co. Inc. that says the Bills are owed $228,675 in sponsorship fees tied to a three-year contract signed in August 2020 that made the restaurant chain an official sponsor of the team. The complaint followed a lawsuit filed Aug. 5 against the company by Lamparelli Construction Co. Inc., which cited $283,392 in unpaid invoices for construction services at five restaurants. Ten weeks later, Paul Lamparelli, president of the Cheektowaga construction company, confirmed today that he still hasn’t seen any payments from that complaint. The complaint filed by the Buffalo Bills is among half a dozen filed against the company in the past year, including one filed Sept. 23 by Lamar Advertising for $22,000 related to services provided in 2023, plus interest and attorney’s fees totaling $5,500. According to the complaint from the Bills, Rachel’s agreed to pay a sponsorship fee of $480,000 as well as additional post-season sponsorship fees if the team qualified for NFL playoffs during the three seasons. The team qualified in all three years, triggering the additional payments, which were due within 60 days of the completion of the season. Though Rachel’s paid the post-season fees for the 2020-21 season, it had an outstanding balance from the 2021-22 post-season of $10,000 plus another $17,000 for fees after the 2022-23 season, according to the complaint.

Lawrence apartments, the $50 million market-rate project, is rising on Michigan Avenue. The project consists of two four-story buildings – one fronting Michigan Avenue, the other Maple Street – with a connecting structure between them. The Lawrence will feature 132 market-rate apartments, underground parking, a community room and fitness center.
Symphony's smart features will allow tenants to unlock their doors and control lights and thermostats through their phones. Foundation work is complete, and  the first apartments will be finished in late 2025 and complete by early 2026.

NOCO LLC announced the appointment of Kevin Williams to executive vice president of NOCO Residential. In this new role, Williams oversees the day-to-day operations and overall performance of NOCO’s residential businesses, which include HVAC, generators, geothermal, home energy assessments, insulation, lighting installation, and EV chargers. Williams will report directly to Michael Casciano, NOCO’s president and chief operating officer.  Williams brings nearly 15 years of energy experience to his new role with NOCO. Having joined the company in 2023, he most recently served as vice president of residential HVAC. Williams resides in West Seneca with his wife and two daughters. Michael A. Casciano, NOCO’s president and chief operating officer says “Having worked in residential energy for most of his career, Kevin is a great fit for this new company role. He understands the energy needs and expectations of the residential customer and has the knowledge and expertise to drive NOCO’s strategic vision.”
