How about opening it up to organizations like. A.A or N. A. to hold their meetings in there during the day. Expose people to “former” addicts and alcoholics that can show them recovery is possible. Maybe repeated or constant exposure to that message might spark something and get them to get themselves off the street!

I at first thought, "Well, okay. That sounds alright." But after thinking through every different scenario this could lead to, it is STILL attracting that negative influence to the neighboring homes and businesses. I am sorry to sound so cold. I really don't hate these people. If we had people around us who were homeless but still behaved like people who wanted to be a part of society. They're just down on their luck. It really wouldn't be an issue. I personally want to feel safe and know there are decent folks around me, while I work as hard as I do, despite being nearly disabled, and pay as much as I am Forced to pay to have a decent place to live and food to eat. I am extremely sympathetic, I really am. But I have hit rock bottom, and climbing out of it was hard! But it was what I had to do to make myself a stronger person who sees life worth living. It takes work, and it takes somebody wanting a better life. We sadly can not save everyone. There are just too many.
